Hi, I’m Jess, a domestic abuse specialist with a deep-rooted passion for prevention, early intervention, and system-wide change. My work is dedicated to tackling Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and challenging the societal norms and systemic gaps that allow misogyny and abuse to thrive.

What sets me apart is not just professional experience, but lived experience. I’ve walked the road many of the people I now support have travelled. I know what it feels like to be silenced, dismissed, and failed by systems meant to protect. And I’ve dedicated my life to changing that.

With a career grounded in frontline work, I’ve been one of the first domestic abuse specialists in the UK to be fully integrated into a police force. I’ve worked directly within schools, housing services, and multi-agency safeguarding teams, supporting victims, identifying patterns of risk, and helping shape more effective, trauma-informed responses. I’m also a speaker, trainer, delivering impactful sessions to professionals across sectors. 

I founded It Starts With You Collective to drive real change from the inside out. Through engaging workshops, training, assemblies, and consultancy, I help organisations and professionals:

Understand the root causes of domestic abuse and misogyny.

Recognise the early warning signs, before crisis point

Respond with confidence and compassion

Challenge harmful beliefs and cultures

Collaborate effectively across systems for real impact

Because the truth is, domestic abuse isn’t just a private issue, it’s a community issue, a workplace issue, a school issue, a system issue. We all have a role to play in prevention, and it starts with awareness, education, and courageous conversation.

Whether I’m delivering training in a boardroom, leading an assembly in a high school, or supporting professionals in housing, probation, or health, my message is the same: early intervention saves lives, and change starts with you.
